Northwest Farm Credit Services (FCS)
Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, and Alaska nonprofit organizations to benefit rural communities in the Northwest region. The purpose of this program is to promote social and economic wellbeing through collaborative and creative approaches.
This includes efforts such as building or improving facilities; purchasing the necessary equipment to facilitate a program; and funding capital improvements which enhance a community’s infrastructure, viability and/or prosperity.
Examples of community grant projects:
-New fire engine for rural fire department
-New multi-purpose community building
-Improving a community park’s facilities
-Computers for a community center’s educational classes

Awards range from $500 to $5,000.
This program provides grants to nonprofit organizations for projects that improve rural communities within Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
Projects previously funded by a Northwest FCS grant are not eligible to receive additional funds.
Items not likely to receive funding:
-Lobbying, political or religious organizations
-Fraternal or labor organizations
-Projects with zero funds raised
-Projects benefiting individuals, government entities, corporations and/or LLCs
-Operating expenses or advertising
-Fund-raising events, dinners, or benefits
-Travel expenses for individual/groups
-Sports team or camp sponsorships
-Deficits already incurred, loans, or debt retirement
-Annual community events
-Projects previously funded by a Northwest FCS grant
Projects must include a letter of involvement or support written by a Northwest FCS customer or Northwest FCS employee.
Projects must show financial backing from other sources.
The deadline to submit this application is February 1, June 1 and October 1 of each year.
Applicants will receive a follow-up letter within two months of the submission deadline.
