City of Minneapolis
Grants of up to $75,000 to Minneapolis, Minnesota building owners for solar upgrades. Funding is intended to provide opportunities for building owners to enhance their business operations while reducing their environmental footprint. Highest priority will be shown to businesses participating the City of Minneapolis Benchmarking program.
Qualifying buildings will be given incentives of $0.25 per estimated annual kWh production for the first year of production, up to $75,000. Priority will also be given to businesses in the Green Zones of Minneapolis. Qualifying buildings will be given incentives of $0.35 per estimated annual kWh production.
The City of Minneapolis supports having a strong business community alongside a healthy environment. The City is offering Green Business Cost Sharing awards for businesses willing to invest in cleaner, greener, or more efficient technologies.

Buildings participating in the City of Minneapolis Benchmarking program will be given incentives of $0.25 per estimated annual kWh production for the first year of production, up to $75,000.
Buildings located in the Green Zones of Minneapolis will be given incentives of $0.35 per estimated annual kWh production.
All improvements must be completed by November 20, 2018.
-Business must be located within the City of Minneapolis.
-All work must meet City of Minneapolis zoning, building, fire, and all other regional, state or national code requirements.
-Cost share funds can only be used to compensate for materials and labor specified on the cost share bid.
-Ineligible costs include labor costs of applicant’s employees.
Application Deadlines: March 1, April 1, May 1, June 1, 2018 until funding is exhausted. Don’t Wait! Funds are limited and will be provided “first come, first served.”

- January 2, 2018: Application submissions accepted
- Mar 1, Apr 1, May 1, June 1: Application Deadlines
- November 20, 2018: All projects to be completed
- December 8, 2018: Final day to submit documents for reimbursement
Building owners must provide details of matching funds for project. Any funds received outside of this program’s funding qualify for the match, including but not limited to grants, utility rebates, and business financing.
