Award of $1,000 to a USA graduate student to recognize an outstanding dissertation that addresses conflict resolution, violent conflict, peacebuilding or peacemaking. Nominations are currently being invited on behalf of outstanding dissertations completed during the 2016/2017 academic year.

To be considered for this prize, a dissertation must be completed at a US graduate institution and nominated by the head of the department in which the dissertation has been accepted. Each department may nominate no more than one dissertation.
The deadline to submit applications has been extended. The new deadline is February 15, 2018.
The annual prize will be announced and presented at the annual ISA meeting in April 2018. The prize will be announced and awarded at ISA 2018 in San Francisco.
