Grants to Florida nonprofit organizations to address health and human services issues faced by the local community in eligible locations. Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent prior to submitting a full application. Priority focus areas include mental illness, substance addiction, and human trafficking. Continued focus areas include adult and child abuse, economic mobility, health, homelessness, as well as youth success and education. Funding is intended to benefit Pasco County.

.Priority Goals:

  • Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence: Increase housing and support services for victims of trafficking. 
  • Mental Health: Increase access to mental health care and reduce boundaries. 
  • Substance Addiction: Reduce county-wide overdose death rate. 

Continued Focus:

  • Elder/Child Abuse: Increase protective factors in adult/children’s lives. Increase access to trauma counseling for victims.
  • Economic Mobility: Increase access to food and necessities for those in need. Reduce unemployment.
  • Health: Increase access to health care and reduce boundaries. 
  • Homelessness: Reduce homelessness in Pasco County. 
  • Youth Success and Education: Increase promotion/graduation rate, academic performance. Reduce drop-out/retention rate.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Requirements
- Serve residents of Pasco County
- Have a 501(c)(3) status or other nonprofit designation, as stated from the IRS
- Provide services with UWPC Focus Areas (Human Trafficking, Mental Illness, Substance Addiction, Adult and Child Abuse, Economic Mobility, Health, Homelessness, as well as Youth Success and Education)

Timeline:
- Letters of Intent Due: April 30, 2021, 5:00 PM
- Invitations to Apply Issued/Application Opens: May 2021
- Full applications due with attachments: June 2021
- Panel Presentations: July- August 2021
- Funding decisions announced: September 2021
- Agreements signed by: 30 Days after Award Notice.

The review process will include a review of the funding application, follow-up questions (if applicable) and an agency presentation to a panel of UWPC community volunteers, staff, and Board members via Zoom.

Agencies may submit proposals for more than one strategy area, but a full application must be completed for each.
