Grants to Nevada rural school districts and charter schools to promote financial literacy for students in grades 3-12. Funding is available for professional development for teachers, who teach in a discipline in which financial literacy instruction may be provided. Funding is also available for administrators and counselors for efforts to increase college and career readiness, focusing on college financial readiness for all students.

- Washoe - $150,000 (specific allocation)

Approved expenditures may begin and RFF forms may be submitted upon receipt of award letter but no
later than September 15, 2019.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Clark County School District and Washoe County School District have specific assigned amounts. Rural districts may apply as a consortium. The Charter School Authority must apply as a consortium. In the case of any consortium, EACH district/charter must complete their own report of expenditures that add up to the designated fiscal agent/Charter Authority’s report of expenditures. This will help facilitate the specific usage of funds within the consortium. Charter schools under the same name that may have multiple locations should provide one budget and narrative to the Charter Authority for all locations. This is a non-competitive allocation. Funding will be adjusted based on number of applicants.

Pre-Application Information:

Completed application and budget with narrative is due by August 30, 2019, 5:00 PM.

- Request for Application (RFA) opens 8:00 AM August 1, 2019
- Request for Application (RFA) closes at 5:00 PM August 30, 2019
- Award letters sent to districts and charters, on or before this date September 15, 2019
- Approved expenditures may begin and RFF forms may be submitted upon receipt of award letter but no later than September 15, 2019
- End of allocation period June 30, 2020
