Grants to Nevada school districts and charter schools in eligible locations to support and expand computer science education. Funding is intended to help elementary and middle schools integrate technology standards. Eligible proposals must support broadening computer sciences to all K-8 students, with targeted efforts for females, students with special needs, and students from underrepresented groups in the field of computer science. This program is open to Clark County School District, Washoe County School District, rural districts, and charter schools.

The FY2021 Computer Science Education Grant provides funding to districts and charter schools/State Charter Authority to assist in broadening computer science education as driven by the Nevada Academic Content Standards for Computer Science and Integrated Technology. This year’s focus is on elementary and middle school (K-8) integration of the computer science and integrated technology standards.

Funding Available for FY2021:
- Clark - $400,000 (specific allocation)
- Washoe - $100,000 (specific allocation)
- Rural Districts and Charter School Authority - $200,000* (non-competitive allocation)

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Clark County School District, Washoe County School District, rural districts, and charter schools are eligible.

- Award letters sent to districts and charters, on or before this date October 29, 2020
- Approved expenditures may begin and RFF forms may be submitted upon receipt of award letter but no
later than October 29, 2020
- End of allocation period June 30, 2021
