Grants starting at $25,000 to Mississippi nonprofit organizations, schools, and IHEs to benefit residents of Forrest, Covington, Lamar, Jones, Jefferson Davis, Pearl River, Perry, and Marion Counties. Areas of interest include health and education, though consideration will also be given to activities falling under other categories.

Foundation Mission:
In keeping with its Christian heritage, the Asbury Foundation is committed to providing financial resources and assistance for the development of a healthy community offering a wholesome quality of life to its residents and to improving the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the individuals in the area it serves.

In fulfillment of its mission, the Asbury Foundation will be faithful and prepared to serve and provide leadership in attaining improved health in the community and among the individuals in the area it serves.

Areas of Interest:

The Asbury Foundation funds grant proposals to assist education, health, and other initiatives.

-Education: Children should be equipped with a basic education in math, science, reading, and writing. They should develop the character and skills necessary to be successful, contributing members of society.

-Health: The community should provide a healthy environment for all of its citizens to grow both mentally, physically, and spiritually.

-Other: Other initiatives, including cultural and ethical, should be supported that benefit the community and make the region a better place in which to live.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants are awarded for a minimum of $25,000.

Term of Contract:

Grants are awarded for periods of one year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants are made to not-for-profit, charitable, scientific, or educational organizations in one or more of the eight Mississippi counties of Forrest, Lamar, Jones, Marion, Covington, Perry, Pearl River and Jefferson Davis.

An organization eligible to apply for a grant must be:
-A tax-exempt organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code that is not a private foundation described in Section 509(a); or
-An exempt operating foundation described in Section 4940(d)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code; or
-An organization described in Section 170(c) (1) or Section 511(a) (2) (B) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The submitting organization must ensure that the size of a grant from the Asbury Foundation will not cause the organization to convert to a private foundation under certain Internal Revenue Service regulations.

Grants are not made to private foundations described in Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code, private or publicly held corporations, limited liability corporations, partnerships, sub-chapter "S" corporations, or individuals.

Universities or Schools: When submitting a grant and you are a university, junior college or K-12 school the grant must be signed by the President of the University or by the Superintendent. 

Pre-Application Information:

The Asbury Foundation accepts grant applications four times a year during the following periods:
-From January 1 through the last Wednesday in March;
-From April 1 through the last Wednesday in May;
-From June 1 through the last Wednesday in August;
-From September 1 through the last Wednesday in October

To be accepted, grant applications must be received on or before the last Wednesday of the grant cycle listed above. Applications sent through the postal system must be postmarked by midnight of the deadline date. Hand delivered applications (by courier or individual) must be received on or before 3:00 PM on the deadline date. These deadlines are strictly observed.
