Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $25,000 to Ontario registered charities for operational support or projects that benefit eligible communities. Funding is intended for programs and activities within the focus areas of health and well-being, arts and culture, environment, heritage, and social services. Eligible applicants are Halton-based and specifically serve and support Oakville and its residents. Charities can choose to make a project-specific application or apply for operational support toward their mission. The focus of this granting program is to assist with the recovery of the local charitable sector.

The Foundation has prioritized SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities and made it a Business Plan priority to reduce inequities in its operations and its community. To that end, The Foundation’s granting guidelines state that projects with Indigenous and equity-deserving communities must be done “with them and not for them”. Equity-deserving communities is a term used by The Foundation to describe groups which are marginalized by societal structures. These communities often experience social and financial disadvantages as a result of systems of oppression, including but not limited to racism, sexism, and ableism. Examples of equity-deserving communities include: Indigenous people; ethnic or linguistic minorities; sexual and gender minorities; and people with mental illness or physical or intellectual disabilities. This list is not exhaustive and is always evolving.
