Request a Grant Writer

Grants ranging between $2,500 and $5,000 to Washington nonprofit organizations, public agencies, school districts, parks, and libraries for collaborative basic needs and human service projects in Snohomish County. A letter of intent must be submitted before applying.

Applications should fit one of the criteria below:

Basic needs: food, clothing, shelter, and safety. Target populations include:
- Families
- Children
- Seniors
- Individuals with disabilities

Human Services: Preference for small and medium sized agencies and community-based programs with well-defined needs:
- Dental, wellness, or mental health services
- Prevention programs and services for pre-teens/teens
- Programs that serve assist at-risk youth
- Services for veterans

Human Services for disabled individuals:
- Health and wellness (this may include mental health)
- Recreation
- Enrichment programs
- Access to services or opportunities to participate in the community

Applicants will need to show how their organization is collaborating with other nonprofit organizations on the project that they are currently applying for funding for.

Grant awards typically range from $2,500 to $5,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible organizations:
- 501(c) (3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations, public agencies, school districts, libraries, parks with programs and/or services in Snohomish County.
- The Foundation does fund faith-based organizations if their activities address the needs of the wider community without regard to religious beliefs. It does not fund religious activities or organizations that require religious activity as a condition of receiving services. It does not fund organizations that “further religious doctrine” - for instance, have as its primary goal or one of its primary goals to further a specific religious belief.

Ineligible projects:

Capital expenses and endowments are not considered for funding.

Pre-Application Information:

Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent before applying.

- LOI Deadline: April 25th, 2019
- Application Deadline: May 30th, 2019
- Notification: Agencies will be notified within 60 days of the committee decision.

Organizations are limited to one application per organization.
