Grants of $32,000 to Canada emerging filmmaking teams of writers, producers, and directors to finance the production of short 5-to-10 minute films. An additional $5,000 loan will be provided for development of the second draft of the feature film script. The short film must relate creatively to the feature film, which should be currently in development.
The Shorts-to-Features Program is designed to finance the production of short films from emerging Canadian filmmakers to use as a calling card for their first feature film currently in development, in addition to a commitment of a further amount to develop a second draft of their feature script.
With the exception of documentary all genres will be accepted.

The program is designed to finance the production of three short films and will award three prizes.
- Production financing in the amount of $32,000 per project
- Additional provincial financing is available from provincial agencies with complimentary programs
- Guaranteed script development support ($5,000) for the feature film version
- In-Kind production and marketing support available
Projects must go into production within six months of selection and must deliver their film within one year of selection.
The Fund will favour projects that can be realized as close to the financing supplied.
