Grants of up to $10,000 to Springfield and Greene County, Missouri nonprofits, schools, and government agencies for programs that positively impact the mental health of senior citizens. Eligible applicants must address one or more of the following issues: senior citizen mental health challenges, the negative impacts of social isolation, the growing number of deaths of despair in the senior citizen population, and/or the growing need for senior citizen community engagement.

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks is committed to achieving positive impact with regard to issues of mental health in senior citizens of Springfield and Greene County. This grant program has been developed in response to a growing body of work showing senior citizen mental health as a significant challenge in the Springfield Greene County region. Applicants should do further research on this topic via the community's health needs assessment.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Organizations with 501(c)3 tax exempt status, schools in the Missouri Public School District and government entities serving Springfield and Greene County are eligible to apply.

In awarding grants, the CFO will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on January 25, 2019. Proposals will be reviewed in February, and selection will be announced in March.

This program does not involve a matching component from the CFO; however other matching, leverage, and in-kind opportunities are encouraged and may be outlined in the grant application in the budget portion.

It is highly recommended applicants use the Canary Measure tool as a jumping off point for writing a grant application.
