Scholarship of $1,620 to a New Mexico post-secondary student for tuition. Funding is intended to help alleviate the financial burden of higher education for a student with potential for academic success. Scholarship money will be paid directly to the institution at which the winner is enrolled for the 2019-2020 year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Qualifications:
- U.S. citizen and a resident of the state of New Mexico. Members of native pueblos or New Mexico tribes are included; or
- U.S. citizen related to a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants, New Mexico. Proof of Mayflower ancestry is not required.
- You plan to attend an accredited post-secondary vocational school, community college, college, or university.

Pre-Application Information:

The winner will be contacted directly and the award will be announced in the 2019 newsletter of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the state of New Mexico and to the recipient’s local media.

Entry Criteria
- An essay of 250-500 words in (English, Times {12} font).
- Two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or other non-family members reflecting your aspirations, knowledge, abilities, and character.
- A dated list of achievements, honors, extracurricular activities, work experience, and community service.
- School transcript indicating you are a good student with the potential for further academic success.
