Grants to Alabama nonprofit organizations for a range of charitable purposes that help local communities in the Fund's nine-county region. A pre-application must be submitted before submission of a grant application. Priority will be given to programming that focuses on education, literacy, safety, and the moral and physical development of youth to age nineteen (19). The Fund's geographic region includes the following counties: Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, DeKalb, Randolph, St. Clair, and Talladega.

- Grant awards under $3,000.00 will receive 100% of the award amount upon receipt of the signed grant agreement.
- Grant awards over $3,000.00 will receive 50% of the award amount upon receipt of the signed grant agreement. A semi-annual report must be submitted on-line through the grant portal. After this step is completed, the remaining 50% of the award amount will be disbursed.
Grant activities supported by an HJCF award may be sustained for one year, after the date the award is announced.
