Foundation / Corporation
Hutchinson Community Foundation
Grants ranging from $250 to $2,500 to Reno County, Kansas nonprofit organizations, agencies, and community groups for projects that benefit the community. Eligible projects will provide opportunities for positive social interaction and volunteer work, connect people to their environment to increase community pride, and build on community assets through placemaking.
In the Make It Greater Grants program, building and nurturing community is put front and center. The Foundation aims to support the work happening in all areas of Reno County that strengthens social capital and community pride. The more social capital a community has, the stronger the members’ sense of engagement and the higher their commitment is to each other and the world around them. Studies even show that higher levels of social capital are correlated with better health outcomes, higher educational achievement, and higher levels of civic engagement.
Make It Greater Grants help foster the spark and hope that keeps Reno County citizens healthy and happy, inspiring philanthropy, collaboration, and innovative leadership to strengthen its communities. The Foundation wants to fund projects that experiment with new ways of addressing a community challenge. It wants to find and support projects in towns and neighborhoods in Reno County where a small grant can make a big difference.
Priority will be given to projects that have a demonstrable need and projects that present a well thought-out strategy for achieving goals with a cost-effective budget.
