Grants to Dane County, Wisconsin nonprofit organizations, schools, municipalities, and government agencies for programs to empower women for job opportunities and economic success within the community. Preference will be given to proposals that include cross-sector solutions and/or partnerships with other agencies.

Special funding interests are activities that support the Earn-Save-Invest initiative and position women for greater economic success within the following areas:

Education: Projects or programs that facilitate the completion of a level of formal education that leads to job preparedness, including high school, community college, trade school, and college.

Job Placement: Projects or programs that help women find and retain financially sustainable jobs after education.

Term of Contract:

AFFW will award only one year of funding. You may reapply in subsequent years for the same recurring or multi-year project.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- Non-profit organizations, exempt from Federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or governmental bodies, including schools and municipalities that serve the people of Dane County

- Conduct business without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual preference, age, marital status, disability or national origin

What A Fund for Women does not Fund:
- Individuals
- Bricks and mortar
- Endowments
- Debt retirement
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Public dissemination of materials with no ability to follow up with individual recipients
- Short-term events such as conferences, festivals, fundraising functions, and celebrations
- Substance abuse treatment or health care services, including mental health
- Capital grants to support ongoing maintenance
- Lobbying
- Scholarships
- Annual fundraising campaigns
