Grants of $50,000 to Missouri nonprofit organizations, government entities, school districts, and churches for programs that improve the quality of life for individuals in eligible regions. Funding is intended for activities to improve safety, wellness, and academic readiness. Eligible programs are those that benefit residents in the Joplin area.

The Philanthropic Society of the Joplin Regional Community Foundation is excited to announce the opening of the application for grants in the following fields of work:

Safe Joplin:

  • Programs that improve collaboration between judges, prosecutors, parole, and domestic violence victim service providers.
  • Programs that improve neighborhood safety in targeted census tracts.
  • Programs that reduce the risk of crime and delinquency in children who have been abused, neglected, witnessed domestic violence or trauma.

Well Joplin:

  • Programs that increase group walking, an activity most can do, no equipment is required, and shown benefits to improve mental health and connectedness.
  • Programs that decrease substance use disorder.
  • Programs that reduce death by suicide.
  • Programs that increase access to primary care, dental care, or mental health care.

Ready Joplin:

  • Programs that increase preschool enrollment.
  • Programs that increase licensed childcare/preschool providers.
  • Programs to mentor students at risk of not completing high school on time.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

501(c)(3) organizations or other IRS approved entities (government entities, school districts, and churches) serving the area are eligible to apply.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are due 11:59 p.m. on April 26, 2021.

Finalists for this program will be notified by May 14th, and finalists videos will be due back May 28th. Finalists will be provided details on the video phase of the program by the Joplin Regional Community Foundation.
