Grants of up to $5,000 to Louisiana individuals and nonprofit organizations for works of art related to local culture. Funding is intended to present, create, or document artworks that interpret, reflect, or preserve the indigenous culture of the state. Examples would include art exhibits or installations; visual art, photography, or film projects; literature (fiction or nonfiction); Internet, electronic, or other media projects; documentaries; performing arts; or recordings.

Programs funded by this grant must occur between Sept. 1, 2022, and Aug. 31, 2023.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

This grant category is open to individuals, 501(c)(3) organizations and registered Louisiana nonprofits who may use a 501(c)(3) nonprofit as a fiscal agent.

Commercial organizations are not eligible. Applications will not be accepted from employees of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, or Board and Advisory members. Applications will not be accepted from employees of Festival Productions, Inc. – New Orleans.

Applicants may submit no more than one application per grant cycle.

Staff members of the Jazz & Heritage Foundation will be happy to answer questions or explain the process before the deadline.

For every dollar of grant funds requested, the applicant must be able to match it with money (not in-kind donations) from other sources.
