Grants of up to $40,000 to West Virginia faculty members at public and private colleges and universities to foster increased interest in science, math, engineering, and technology fields. Funding is intended to improve programs for undergraduate students through laboratory renovations and the acquisition of supplies and modern instruments. Curriculum enhancements and innovations in classroom instruction, delivery and pedagogy are central interests of Innovation awards.
Grants may be used only to purchase scientific instruments, equipment, minor renovations, and material supplies or for curriculum development.
Equipment and materials purchased should be used primarily for instructional purposes but may also be used to enhance faculty research programs that actively include undergraduates as primary participants. It is anticipated that an award will be made to one private and one public institution of higher education based upon the quality of proposals received.
Proposals in any STEM field will be considered.
