Grants of $5,000 to New York nonprofits, school districts, and municipalities in eligible regions for a range of projects and funding needs. Funding is intended for community benefit projects, capital needs of the organization, or any other pressing needs. Applicants must serve the Cortland County community.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any tax-exempt, nonprofit organization located in and/or serving Cortland County is eligible to apply for a Bright Ideas grant. This includes any group classified as a nonprofit charitable organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code or an organization that is publicly supported, like a municipality or school district.

Grants for purely religious purposes will not be considered.

If you have a project that operates under a nonprofit fiscal sponsor, the nonprofit sponsor should submit the grant application.

Each organization is eligible to submit only one application.

Pre-Application Information:

Application Deadline: February 24, 2020

Nonprofits will be notified of the review committee’s funding decisions by late March. Funds will be sent to successful applicants by early April.
