Grants to Nevada educational agencies, nonprofit and faith-based organizations, IHEs, libraries, and public housing authorities for programs to help residents obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and economic self-sufficiency. Funding is intended for programs providing adult education and literacy. Funding is also intended for English language literacy.
Two grants are available: the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) Basic Grant and the AEFLA Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education Funding (IELCE).
Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) Basic Grant:
The Nevada Department of Education (NDE) is soliciting applications from eligible providers to develop, implement and improve adult education and literacy activities in Nevada by establishing or operating programs that provide services and standards-based instruction in one or more of the following categories:
AEFLA Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education Funding (IELCE):
The purpose of the 243 Funding for Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE), under the AEFLA, is to:
