Grants of up to $5,000 to Iowa nonprofit organizations and government entities in eligible areas to support unanticipated needs due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Funding is intended to allow nonprofits to continue delivering critical services related to the pandemic and to help organizations evaluate their operational effectiveness and plan for the future. Eligible organizations serve the Greater Des Moines community.

  • Service delivery shifts:  Organizations that have been forced to pivot critical service delivery to new platforms as a result of COVID-19 may apply for funding to support the acquisition of tools to promoe the continuity of core programs and/or migration of this programming online or virtual. Please note that a variety of conferencing platforms are available for free to nonprofits at this time. Example: Costs associated with moving a service model to tele-services.
  • Business, human resource, or financial planning: The COVID-19 crisis has severely impacted organizations that rely on earned revenue streams for their operations. This fund will provide support for costs associated with engaging outside experts for the purposes of business or financial planning. Example: An organization that has suffered significant lost revenue engages finance or business planning professionals to help gauge possible next steps for the organization to maintain services.
