Grants of $500 to Virginia artists in eligible locations to address urgent financial needs. Funding is intended to mitigate losses in income due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Eligible uses of funds include, but are not limited to, food, child care, medical care, mental health services, and rent and other bills. Eligible applicants live in Richmond and the Tri-Cities region. This region includes: City of Richmond, Colonial Heights, Hopewell and Petersburg, along with the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent and Powhatan, and the town of Ashland.
The COVID-19 Arts and Culture Relief Fund provides financial assistance to professional artists of all disciplines (visual, performing, and more) throughout the Richmond and Tri-Cities region who have lost income from cancelled paid creative opportunities during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Fund will provide financial assistance for artists experiencing financial need including job losses, inability to pay rent or other bills, mental health services, medical care, child care assistance, and food insecurity, but not limited to these.
This fund is intended for all professional artists in need. In order to mitigate systemic inequalities, the Fund will prioritize applications submitted by individuals who have historically underrepresented based on race/ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or socioeconomic status.
