Grants to Minnesota nonprofit organizations and schools in eligible cities for educational programs that serve disadvantaged students who are impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Funding is intended to support new, innovative, and high-quality programs and plans to provide academic instruction to historically underserved students. The goal of the program is to mitigate the impact of, and help students catch up from, learning loss due to the pandemic. Eligible applicants are based in the Twin Cities.

Proposals most likely to be selected for funding will:

  • Describe creative, imaginative, and/or research-backed programs and plans to boost academic achievement for students of color, English Learners, and students who qualify for free- and reduced-price lunch;
  • Be rigorous in leading students towards meeting grade-level standards;
  • Be “evergreen”—programs and plans that can be implemented in the near-term and also in future school years; and,
  • Be replicable by other schools and organizations.
