Grants of up to $50,000 to Colorado nonprofit organizations, schools, and government agencies in eligible locations to alleviate the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Funding is intended for operational expenses and programs in a wide range of priority areas. Organizations should work in the seven-county Greater Denver region: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties.

Priority Funding Areas:

  • Mental health (telehealth counseling, therapy, case management, hotlines, mindfulness, physical activity)
  • Behavioral health
  • Job loss / back to work support (re-training, up-skill training, job search/placement, childcare assistance)
  • Basic needs assistance for individuals and families (rent, utilities, family economic stabilization, etc.)
  • Census outreach work that has been disrupted by COVID-19
  • Food insecurity
  • Health disparities in communities of color
  • Racial/ethnic backlash (i.e. anti-Asian sentiment)
  • Virtual service delivery
  • Wellness slide-back and public health (i.e. vaccinations, well-check screenings)

Rose Community Foundation’s COVID-19 grantmaking will be organized into three phases:

  • Prevention/Containment/Emergency Response – Grants directed to nonprofit organizations and government agencies on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic that are specifically aimed at supporting the Greater Denver region’s most vulnerable and impacted populations. Rose Community Foundation made an initial round of grants in this area in early April, but more grantmaking in this category may be deployed as the needs continue and resources are available.
  • Impact Mitigation – As the health and economic implications of COVID-19 and its ripple effects are felt across our community, Rose Community Foundation is committed to supporting the provision of critical services that address both mid-term and longer-term impacts and challenges created by COVID-19 while advancing inclusive, engaged and equitable Greater Denver communities.
  • Recovery – The economic disruption of COVID-19 precautions has taken a heavy toll on our Greater Denver nonprofit and small business sectors, the people they serve and the people they employ.  Rose Community Foundation will join donors and peer funders in strategically supporting the fiscal recovery of nonprofits in the Greater Denver area to ensure they can continue playing vital role in the overall health and sustainability of our region.
The current funding opportunity in intended to support organizations working on impact mitigation.
