South Carolina State Library (SCSL) - Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA)
Grants of up to $1,000 to South Carolina libraries to prepare to reopen within the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic safety guidelines. Funding is intended for PPE, cleaning and safety supplies, computer hardware, outside professional services, or any other items that would allow the libraries to safely reopen.
To assist South Carolina libraries in responding to the coronavirus pandemic, the State Library will provide LSTA funding to help libraries prepare to reopen to the public and adapt services to reduce the impact of COVID-19. This CARES Act Public Library grant program supports Goal 1 of South Carolina’s Five-Year Plan: Goal 1: Information and library services are expanded and are made more accessible, taking advantage of collaborative and partnering opportunities whenever possible, and are aligned with documented needs of South Carolinians. Federal Purpose: Expand services for learning and access to information and educational resources in any of a variety of formats, in any type of libraries, for individuals of any age. Target library and information services to persons having difficulty using a library and to underserved urban and rural communities.
