American Psychological Foundation (APF)

Deadline Date:

09/15/21 11:59 PM

Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grant to a USA, Canada, or International psychologist for research projects. Eligible applicants are researchers who are affiliated with a nonprofit institution. Research projects may address scientific, scholarly, or applied research and/or educational activities to support the investigation of how personality, culture, and environment influence work behavior, and mental and physical health.

Preference will be given to early career psychologists (ten years or less postdoctoral), and pilot projects that, if successful, would be strong candidates for support from major federal and foundation funding agencies, and "demonstration projects" that promise to generalize broadly to similar settings in other geographical areas and/or to other settings.

Applicants may use grant monies for direct administrative costs of their proposed project. Examples include (but are not limited to): participant payments, supplies, technology expenses (software, hardware, imaging, etc.), travel to conduct research, travel to disseminate findings, stipend/salary support, course buy out and supplemental training.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for proposals is September 15, 2021, at 11:59 p.m.

IRB approval must be received from the host institution before funding can be awarded if human participants are involved.

APF tries to announce grant recipients approximately two to three months after a grant deadline, though the exact time may take shorter or longer depending on the number of applications received.

Researchers can win multiple awards for different projects. Each individual project, however, can only win once.

For grants and scholarships that are $10,000 or more, APF will disburse the funds to the grantee’s institution.
