Grants to Nevada organizations in eligible locations to address critical community needs during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Applicants must contact program staff prior to applying. Funding is intended for activities that prepare for, prevent, and respond to the spread of the Coronavirus. Eligible programs should benefit the residents of Carson City.

Eligible activities paid for with the state CDBG-CV funds must meet one or more of the three national objectives listed in CDBG federal statutes as follows:

  • Benefit to low-income households or persons;
  • Elimination of slums and blight; or
  • Meeting urgent community development need

The maximum amount requested is $70,426.

Term of Contract:

Projects will be scheduled to be completed within 12 months of the project award date with the exception of construction projects. Construction projects must be completed within 24 months of the project award date.

Funding is for Carson City organizations and programs.

Pre-proposal Conference:

Notice is hereby given that the City of Carson City will conduct a public meeting on November 9, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. (All meetings will be online, please see directions below), in order to discuss possible applications for funding under the COVID-19, CDBG-CV, State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) Program and to solicit citizen input on possible activities to be included in the application.

The purpose of this public meeting is to provide information about the CDBG-CV program, how to apply, eligibility requirements, how and where funds can be used, and to give citizens an opportunity to make their comments known regarding what types of eligible activities the City of Carson City should apply for under the State CDBG-CV program.
