Grants of up to $2,500 to Vermont small businesses in eligible locations to mitigate the financial stress caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Businesses must demonstrate the financial impact of the health crisis, show that the closure or decline of the business will contribute to community deterioration, and show that the business has no reasonable access to resources to mitigate the impact of the disaster. Applicants must be located in the Town of Killington.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The fund will award grants of about $1,000 to $2,500.

The size of grants will be based on the relative size of the business, the level of the business’s COVID-related financial distress, the importance of the business to their town’s vibrancy, the number of applicants, and available funding.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Businesses should meet the following condition:
- Between $100,000 and $2 million in gross revenue between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019.
- Commenced operation prior to January 1, 2019.

The following types of businesses are eligible:
- Food (i.e. restaurants, coffee shops, bars, farms, and food production)
- Lodging and rentals (i.e. inns, hotels, rentals)
- Retail shops
- Personal care, outdoor recreation, fitness, and wellness (i.e. hair salons, yoga, massage therapists, outdoor guides)
- Pet care
- Real estate office
- Construction and renovation
- Landscaping and home care
- Local publications

The Fund does not expect to support businesses in the following sectors:
- Business-to-business consulting and marketing
- Financial, legal, and professional services
- Fuel and utility
- Manufacturing, except food and farm
- Medical (i.e. hospitals, medical practices), except physical and massage therapy
- Franchises, chains, or statewide corporations

Pre-Application Information:

- Applications must be submitted electronically by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020.
- Applicants will be notified of the results of their application by the end of August.
