Grants to Oregon nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for support during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Funding is intended to assist nonprofits experiencing lost revenue and unexpected expenses resulting from the pandemic. Eligible organizations are located in and serve Washington County. The goal of the grant program is to assist local nonprofits maintain their business, workforce, and service to residents.

Grants should help nonprofits meet the immediate needs in the community not addressed by other sources. Funding will prioritize culturally-specific and/or culturally responsive organizations in Washington County.

Awarded CARES Act funds must be used for COVID-19 related costs in alignment with allowed expenditures:

  • Lost revenue due to the Stay Home, Stay Safe order
  • Any nonprofit-related operating expenses (including but not limited to payroll, rent/mortgage, utilities, inventory, PPE and cleaning supplies)
  • COVID-19 recovery strategies (including health and safety facility changes, supplies, and/or public education campaigns).

The program will provide one-time grants of up to $100,000.

Term of Contract:

Granted funds must be used by December 30, 2020.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Funds are available for qualified nonprofit agencies that have experienced economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic beginning in March 2020 due to the Stay Home, Stay Safe order.

Eligible organizations will:
- Be physically located in and serve populations in Washington County
- Have not received a grant or loan from Washington County since March 1, 2020
- Have been in operation since at least March 1, 2019
- Be registered as a 501(c)(3) with the IRS or have a fiscal agent that is a registered 501(c)(3)
- Have experienced economic hardship during the economic shut down due to the pandemic beginning in March 2020

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be submitted by September 25, 2020, at 5 p.m. or when 1,000 applications have been received, whichever occurs first.

Only one application will be accepted for any one organization. Organizations with a fiscal sponsor can submit an application in addition to one submitted by their fiscal sponsor.
