Grant Description
Scholarships of $5,000 and of $10,000 to USA students in multiple states for undergraduate studies at a college, university, or vocational school. Funding is intended for individuals from underserved backgrounds: Black/African American; Hispanic or Latino; America Indian or Alaska Native; Asian; or Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander. Eligible applicants are located in Connecticut, Idaho, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Additional Criteria for Eligibility
Applicants to the Dominion Energy Educational Equity Scholarship Program must:
- Be historically underserved students who self-identify as Black/African American; Hispanic or Latino; America Indian or Alaska Native; Asian; or Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.
- High school seniors or graduates or current college undergraduates residing in one of the following states: CT, OH, WV, VA, MD, NC, SC, ID, WY, UT
- Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
Pre-Application Information
Timeline:
- Deadline to apply: January 25, 2023 3:00 pm CT
- One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than January 28, 2022 3:00 p.m. Central Time.
- All applicants will be notified in May.
- Payments are made in August payable to the school at which the student is enrolled.
Number of Grants
20 awards of $5,000 will be granted to students pursuing 2-year programs and 40 awards of $10,000 will be granted to students pursuing 4-year degrees.
Estimated Size of Grant
- Awards of $5,000 will be granted to students pursuing 2-year programs
- Awards of $10,000 will be granted to students pursuing 4-year degrees.
Term of Contract
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by Dominion Energy.
