Grants of up to $10,000 to Idaho small businesses in eligible locations for support during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Funding is intended for applicants that have suffered business interruptions or expenses caused by the pandemic. Eligible applicants are located in the Pocatello city limits.

The CARES Act requires that payments from the Coronavirus Relief Fund only be used to cover  expenses that meet all of the following criteria: 

  • Are necessary expenditures due to the public health emergency with respect to the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) 
  • Are not accounted for in the budget most recently approved as of March 27 (the date of enactment of the CARES Act) 
  • Were incurred during the period that begins March 1, 2020 and ends December 30, 2020 

Eligible uses of funds:

  • Operating capital for leasing space, insurance and/or utilities, or expense caused by COVID‐ 19 related incidents or decisions, including but not limited to local closure orders, need for personal protective equipment, social distancing requirements, increased costs, disrupted supply network, etc. 
  • COVID‐19 related expenditures to purchase inventory, supplies, accounting and inventory  software, PPE, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • Equipment purchase (with or without installation costs) to support social distancing or safety  measures to combat COVID‐19 
  • Cleaning and sanitation supplies to adhere to CDC guidelines for disinfecting spaces 
  • Other temporary adjustments required to adhere to COVID‐19 social distancing standards 
  • Purchase of PPE for employees or customers 
  • Testing costs for employees for COVID‐19

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the program the:
- Business must be a small business, defined as businesses with 500 employees or less
- Business must have an official EIN #
- Business must be an Idaho domiciled business and located in the Pocatello city limits
- Business must be in good standing and not federally debarred from receiving funds
- Business must have a qualified business interruption or expense caused by COVID-19 related incidents or decisions, including but not limited to local closure orders, need for personal protective equipment, social distancing requirements, increased costs, disrupted supply network, etc.
- Business has not received funds for the current purpose by other COVID-19 grant programs
- Adverse effects and expenses planned for the use of the grant must occur between June 20, 2020 and December 30, 2020
- Business does not exist for the purpose of advancing partisan political activities or the business does not directly lobby federal or state officials, defined as having had a registered lobbyist at any point during 2020
- Business is not currently in bankruptcy
- Business is current with property taxes, or has a payment plan in place with the County
- Business has liability insurance in place by date of executed agreement
- Business is registered with IRS and Idaho Business Registration Secretary of State
