Grants to USA nonprofit and for-profit organizations, agencies, IHEs, school districts, and Native American Tribal entities to enhance services for people with disabilities. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several days to complete. The purpose of NIDILRR’s DRRPs is to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act by developing methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technologies that advance a wide range of independent living and employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities, especially individuals with the most significant disabilities.

Under this priority, ten DRRPs, one within each of the 10 HHS regions, will be funded as part of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) National Network. Applicants must propose a program of services and activities that lead to improved understanding among individuals and entities, of their rights and responsibilities under the ADA.  These services and activities include outreach, training, technical assistance, information dissemination, capacity building, and research.

Each ADA Regional Center must be designed to contribute to the following outcomes:

  • Improved understanding by ADA stakeholders of their rights and responsibilities under the ADA.
  • Identification of barriers to compliance with the ADA as well as innovative approaches for eliminating these barriers.
  • Improved understanding of ADA stakeholders’ need for and receipt of ADA Network Services over time, including services to address emerging issues related to compliance with ADA requirements.
  • Enhanced efficiency and effectiveness of ADA Network Services.
