Grants to Kansas nonprofit and faith-based organizations, government entities, and educational institutions in eligible locations to benefit youth who want to participate in sports. Funding is intended to assist local youth who are interested in playing softball but lack the funds to do so. Eligible programs benefit youth in Saline County.

Grants are awarded to individual players or teams who play in a local league or for a Saline County high school who might otherwise not be able to participate in softball due to limited financial resources. Grants may be used to support, but are not limited to registration fees, tournament fees, uniforms, equipment, and clinics.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants may be made to the following:
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, educational, government, or religious institutions
- Individuals or organizations that do not fall into one of the above types of institutions are encouraged to partner with a fiscal agent in one of those categories. If that is not possible, a grant may still be awarded for a charitable project.
- Unless noted otherwise, grants are limited to projects or programs that benefit the community of Saline County, KS.
- GSCF Founding Donors that are outside of Saline County, such as Bethany College and Bethany Home Association, are eligible to receiving funding from the Fund for Greater Salina.

The Foundation will NOT consider grants to the following:
- Political projects of any kind
- Organizations or projects that practice discrimination by race, color, creed, sex, age, or national origin
- Operating deficits or retirement of debt

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are accepted from March 1st to May 15th.

Grants are distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.
