Grants of up to $500 to British Columbia individuals in eligible locations for community-building initiatives. Funding may be used to offset project-related expenses, including services, products, and transportation. Activities may take place in-person or virtually. Anyone living in Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Cedar, Gabriola Island, and Lantzville is welcome to apply.
The Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG) program helps residents of any age, experience, or background take part in building community. Neighbourhood Small Grants are for projects that connect people socially or involve sharing skills or talents with each other. Projects must stay within guidelines for physical distancing. You may apply for any project that will bring your community together, build community strength and resilience, or tackle social isolation.
Some common types of Responsive Neighbourhood Small Grant projects include care package deliveries or teaching people a new skill, but there are also many unique projects that don’t fall into these categories.
