Grants to Tennessee health systems, including health centers, clinics, and hospital networks, to increase cancer screening rates among female residents. Funding is intended to expand the rates of cervical and breast cancer screenings. Examples of eligible interventions include patient reminders, reducing structural barriers, and provider reminder and feedback.

One of the main focuses of the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP) is to increase breast and cervical cancer screening rates within Tennessee health systems. As an NBCCEDP affiliate, Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening Program (TBCSP) is required to implement Evidence Based Interventions (EBIs) in partnership with health systems to increase cancer screening rates among all women. EBI practices are peer-reviewed, empirically based strategies and documented evidence of effectiveness used to improve cancer screening rates and detect cancer when medical intervention is most effective.
