Grants of up to $36,000 to Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations in eligible regions for programs to positively impact the lives of Jewish women and girls. Funding is intended for programs focused on economic security, health, empowerment, and safety. Programs must take place in the greater Philadelphia area, including Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties.

The Women of Vision Foundation impacts the lives of self identifying Jewish women and girls across generations and geographic boundaries through strategic grant making, advocacy, and educational programs leading to social justice and social change. Two-year grants will be awarded to programs in the Greater Philadelphia area that bring about social change and/or social justice primarily for self identifying Jewish women and girls.

The foundation is interested in programs that define or re-frame an issue, change people's behaviors, increase engagement, change policies or status, or maintain past gains. Organizations that can clearly define and illustrate how their program influences and brings about social change and social justice are strongly encouraged.

Strategic Funding Areas: 

Health and Safety: Recognizing the physical and mental health of self identifying Jewish women and girls as a human right and requirement to obtain full economic, religious, social and political achievement. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Domestic violence/victimization,
  • Gun violence,
  • Sex trafficking,
  • Health and wellness.

Empowerment: Encouraging new and existing leaders among self identifying Jewish women and girls in ways that help them use their power and skills to affect social change, strengthen the Jewish community, gain personal empowerment and support aspiring female leaders. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Self-image,
  • Education or life skills,
  • Leadership development.

Economic Security: Increasing economic justice, financial stability and self-sufficiency for self identifying Jewish women and girls creating more fair and equal workplaces. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Economic empowerment,
  • Professional development,
  • Self-sufficiency,
  • Legal reform.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Applicants are eligible for grants between $5,000 and $36,000 per year, but consideration will be given to larger requests.

Term of Contract:

The grant term is September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Women of Vision Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia invites organizations located in the Greater Philadelphia area to submit a proposal for 2023-2024.

Eligibility
- Organizations that have a national footprint or are headquartered outside the Greater Philadelphia area are eligible to apply. But organizations may only apply for programs taking place in the Greater Philadelphia area, specifically one or more of the following counties: Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery.
- New and existing programs are eligible for consideration.
- Programs must be focused primarily on self identifying Jewish women and girls.
- Organization must have its own IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation.
