Grant Description
Grants of up to $7,000 to Georgia nonprofit and for-profit farms in eligible counties to address critical needs and support operations. Funding is intended to help farms implement farm infrastructure projects; purchase tools, equipment, and materials that promote improved efficiency, yields, and season extension; improve or expand production areas; access professional services; and support farm personnel costs. Eligible applicants are located in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, or Gwinnett counties.

Possible uses of the 2023 Farm Support Grant could include (but are not limited to):

  • Accomplishing farm infrastructure projects–season extension infrastructure (like high tunnels, caterpillar tunnels, row cover supplies), farm irrigation projects, cold storage, wash/pack station improvements, etc.
  • Expanding production space or capacity
  • Adding farm equipment and tools, materials, supplies, and inputs
  • Accessing training opportunities, professional development, and professional services–like marketing, online sales channel setup, consulting, etc.

This grant is intended to support farms that serve the public by consistently making their produce or farm products available to the public through means such as: selling at a local farmers market, through a CSA-style program, direct to local consumers (farmstand, online sales, or other direct means), through donation, and/or through other sales channels (local retail, restaurants, etc.).
