Grant Description
Grants of up to $10,000 to Minnesota nonprofit organizations for initiatives to benefit local residents. Previously funded focus areas include education and skills development, health, disabilities, transportation, housing, economic grants, and homelessness. In recent years, the funding source's emphasis has been on initiatives to end homelessness among youth and veterans.

The mission and vision of Wells focus on:

  • Funding social initiatives through innovative and entrepreneurial action.
  • Selecting recipients for funding who use practical means to address identified needs, and who reach demonstrable goals.
  • Leveraging the Foundation's contribution to organizations by coordinating with other foundations whenever possible.


Additional Eligibility Criteria
The Wells Board accepts applications from nonprofit organizations.

Pre-Application Information
The Wells Board accepts applications from organizations beginning July 1 and running through October 1 of each year.

The Foundation will acknowledge receipt of the application immediately and follow up with the applicant within three weeks.
