Libby Hikind is a highly successful businesswoman, a true visionary, and a Web site innovator. As such, she has built an enterprise for grant searching, grant writing, crowdfunding, and grant training.

Libby obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brooklyn College, a Masters of Science degree from Adelphi University, and an Advanced Degree Certification in Educational Administration & Supervision from Brooklyn College. She began her career as a teacher in the New York City Department of Education, where she taught for nearly 30 years. and wrote grants for a Brooklyn school district.

At various points during her career, she took part in peer review committees for the U.S. Department of Education, published a grants fax newsletter NYC GrantWatch for nonprofits, was the government grants writer for Metropolitan College of NY, was a FEMA Project Liberty team leader for crisis intervention counselors (after 9/11) and ran a successful primary election campaign for NYC City Council.

Libby started her own grant writing agency in 1994, which was successful immediately. But with the advent of the World Wide Web, Libby has literally transformed the world of finding grant funding. In 2010, she launched GrantWatch.com—a Web site that displays more than 12,000 available grants and the process for obtaining them. The site categorizes grants into more than 50 subject categories for easy searching, with new grants added daily—unlike any other grant site on the Web.

Approximately 1,000,000 people visit grantwatch.com monthly, with traffic increasing every month. Visitors represent the broad spectrum of the world of grants: hospitals, universities, schools, community-based groups and neighborhood coalitions, and interested people and organizations.
