Fort Bend County Opens Business Grant Program To Offer Funding + Business Consulting
Fort Bend County, in Texas, is working hard to help their small businesses to not only adapt to the current situation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic but also to help them to flourish. The county has invested 22 million into its small business grant program and is now expanding into offering business consulting to these small businesses as well. This program is funded through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, where business owners can apply for grants from $5000-$25,000, and also for free one-on-one business consulting.
Last week, Fort Bend County Judge KP George announced that this business consulting will be made available through a new initiative the county is rolling out. This initiative focuses on helping small businesses, especially minority-owned and disadvantaged businesses, who have been negatively by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here’s what this new initiative will offer struggling small businesses:
- One on one business coaching by local and national highly trained business coaches and consultants
- Invaluable monthly virtual & face to face business resilience courses
- A customized COVID-19 business recovery plan
- Monthly mastermind strategy meetings
- Six-month access to a robust online business consulting program
Judge George spoke on the initiative rollout:
Small business success is so important to us in Fort Bend County, small businesses are the backbone for Fort Bend.
George encouraged all small business to apply for this program, to help them with recovery. The grant program has already provided funds to 2,000 small businesses and is available to any small business that has between 1-20 employees that have suffered at least a 25% loss.
Programs like this are essential at a time where lockdowns have been reinforced, and many businesses have really struggled, and have had to find a way to adapt somehow to the current situation.
