Nine Small Business Grants for the Northeast

Editor’s Note: This is the first in a series providing regional-specific grants for small businesses. The series will share grants from states that exist in the region or ones for the region as a whole. That way, more of our subscribers can find grants that fit their funding needs no matter where they are located. This list will focus on the Northeast: Maine, New York, New Jersey, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania.

Small businesses play a large part in the overall business infrastructure of the United States. According to the Small Business Association, 60 million Americans, or 47.1 percent of the population, work at a small business.

Many small businesses do work focused on helping communities in their area. Like nonprofits or educational institutions, these businesses apply for grants for various resources and assistance. For instance, the funds can be used towards renewable energy sources, providing academic training to employees, or supporting a program that will benefit a community.

GrantWatch has a category specifically for small business grants on its website. For more information, visit the GrantWatch FAQ page. Best of luck with your grant-seeking!
