Minority-Owned Businesses
SBA’s 8(a) Business Development program can help qualifying minority-owned firms to develop and grow their businesses through one-to-one counseling, training workshops, and management and technical guidance. The program also provides access to government contracting opportunities, allowing these businesses to become solid competitors in the federal marketplace.

Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSB)
The WOSB Federal Contract Program was implemented in February 2011 with the goal of expanding the number of industries where WOSB was able to compete for business with the federal government. This program enables Economically Disadvantaged WOSBs (EDWOSBs) to compete for federal contracts that are set-aside for EDWOSBs in industries where women-owned small businesses are underrepresented. It also allows set-asides for WOSBs in industries where women-owned small businesses are substantially underrepresented. SBA has designated two sets of industries according to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Obtaining a DUNS Number
Check to see if you already have a DUNS Number
The Federal government requires that all applicants for Federal grants and cooperative agreements with the exception of individuals other than sole proprietors have a DUNS number. The Federal government will use the DUNS number to better identify related organizations that are receiving funding under grants and cooperative agreements and to provide consistent name and address data for electronic grant applications. http://tinyurl.com/p73aubw
