A GrantWatch Story of Success & Triumph

So, before I tell you more about this program and we talk all about the importance of veterans organizations and grant programs, I want to tell you a personal story from a customer service call I answered a few years ago. I picked up a customer service call on a regular day, not really thinking much of anything, thinking I would just guide the person on the other line through our services, answer questions about funding, or something along those lines. But instead, it was a veterans organization on the other line, and the coordinator proceeded to tell me that his nonprofit had been awarded three very necessary grants that they had found on GrantWatch. We were both crying on that call, and now close to seven years later I still remember it.

This is why it’s important to talk about the need for these organizations. These nonprofits and supplementary organizations provide so much needed help.

Veterans & Much Needed Services Come Together

Now, let’s talk about why programs and services offered by these nonprofits, local government, and other relevant organizations are so critical: These kinds of programs offer essential services in addition to any offered through the Department of Veteran Affairs. This may include things like counseling for trauma, housing support, community activities, career services for the civilian transition.

The importance of Veterans organizations that help provide services for those who have given so much to all of us can never be expressed enough. And since many veterans experience a range of issues ranging from homelessness to addiction at higher rates than the general population, help is needed. This is why many nonprofits like the one’s awarded grants in the last cycle from Veterans Trust are so crucial:

Here are those awardees from the 2019-2020 cycle.

I’ve linked all of those organizations above, in case you want to learn more about them.

Programs like the Veterans Trust Fund award grants to nonprofit organizations that assist veterans, veterans service organizations, and county directors of veterans affairs to assist those in need of shelter and necessities of living. And the fund receives funding from several sources.

GrantWatch is proud to list Veteran grants as a category on our website so that these amazing nonprofits can search for grants that will help them continue helping our heroes.
