Volunteering is beneficial to maintaining a healthy, safe, and prosperous society. And since April is National Volunteer Month, it is the perfect time to set some volunteer goals for yourself. The weather will be warming up and many organizations will be planning events outside to accommodate COVID, so take the time to reach out to your local organizations and see how you can help in their efforts!

10 Grants for National Volunteer Month
- Firstly, there are awards to U.S. and Canada charitable organizations to recognize programs that serve local communities. Organizations are nominated by the funding source and its customers vote to determine the winners.
- Grants of $1,000 to U.S., Canada, and International individuals and organizations for creative and innovative projects. Priority goes to projects that involve the focus areas of leadership, media activism, and ideas that increase representation and inclusion in class, race, age, gender, religion, sexuality, and/or ability.
- There are also grants to U.S. and Canada nonprofits and registered charities to support the building of sustainable school gardens.
- Funding is available to U.S. nonprofit organizations for programs and projects to benefit society.
- Additionally, funding starting at $250 is available to U.S,. nonprofit organizations for community benefit projects. Funding is for programs and projects that focus on disaster relief, basic needs, disabilities, education, health and wellness, and cross-cultural enrichment with the Japanese-American culture.
- Grants of up to $1,000 are also available to U.S. students ages 18 and under for service projects to benefit their local community.
- There are also grants of up to $50,000 to U.S. nonprofits, elected officials, town managers, and employees for projects to revitalize public community spaces in rural areas.
- In addition, there is funding to U.S. nonprofits for programs that benefit children, youth, and young adults. The grant money is to support projects and activities within the focus areas of environmental stewardship and the arts.
- Funding of $200 is also available to U.S. individuals, teachers, and leaders for community-based initiatives. These grants are to support valuable work in local communities benefitting residents, animals, or the environment.
- Finally, there are grants to U.S., Canada, and International nonprofit organizations for a wide variety of environmental and community programs and projects.
