Here are some tips from the team at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GrantWatch<\/a> to stand out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1) Follow the directions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It really is that simple. This isn\u2019t the place where you want to stand out from the others. Make sure you follow every direction and guideline. Meet your deadlines at worst \u2013 beating them is usually better \u2013 keep within the word count, use the font desired and use only the attachments wanted. If the grantor wants only to be contacted by email, don\u2019t phone them or vice versa. Don\u2019t give them an easy excuse to dismiss your proposal before it\u2019s considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2) Do Your Research<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do everything you can to know the foundation with whom you\u2019ll be communicating. Get to know what they\u2019re about beyond the surface. Find out what programs they have funded. Find out through multiple sources if they\u2019re available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3) Make Sure Your Goals Align<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grant seekers must find grantors who missions and goals align. If they don\u2019t, you\u2019re wasting your time \u2013 and theirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4) Watch Your Language<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Explain your work clearly, but don\u2019t dive into buzzwords and jargon. Be clear and get to the point. Know \u2013 or, at the least, gain a better understanding \u2013 of the difference between providing details and getting lost in verbage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5) Clean and Presentable<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make it as easy as possible for your potential grantor to navigate through your document. Don\u2019t make the grantor hunt for basic components \u2013 such as your mission statement \u2013 and make certain your goals and objectives are clearly mapped out.
