GrantWatch<\/a> has a grant category on its site called Homeland\/National Security<\/a>. The category has a number of grants for nonprofits, faith-based institutions, fire departments, EMS groups, law enforcement, Emergency Services for Safety & Capacity Building, and other Homeland & National Security agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three primary emergency service agencies are police, fire, and emergency medical services.\u00a0These agencies and organizations are crucial to society because they provide important services that protect and care for all citizens. According to the National Fire Protection Association<\/a>, there were a total of 36,416,000 calls made to fire departments in 2020. In addition, a report from The National Association of State Emergency Medical Services Officials noted that their agencies answered around 28.5 million 911 calls<\/a> in 2020. And law enforcement has been just as busy. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, there were 538,293 violent-crime incidents in 2020 and 640,836 offenses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In honor of all the good work these departments do, GrantWatch is sharing 10 grants below to help support emergency services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10 Grants for Emergency Services & Homeland Security <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
  1. Firstly, there are grants available to U.S. fire departments, EMS providers, and fire training academies<\/a>, for equipment and training. <\/li>
  2. Grants to U.S. and territories emergency response providers<\/a> for training and equipment. Eligible applicants include paramedic or EMS departments, fire departments, and law enforcement departments. Priority will be given to volunteer departments as well as low and underfunded departments.<\/li>
  3. There are also grants to U.S. local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies<\/a> to advance and promote safety for police officers. The purpose of the program is for the purchase of safety equipment and services that will protect law enforcement officers. <\/li>
  4. In addition, there are grants available to Texas agencies<\/a> in eligible counties for emergency services. <\/li>
  5. Grants averaging $2,500 to U.S. fire departments<\/a>, nonprofit and community organizations, and governmental units for efforts to prevent, control, and prepare for fires. Eligible uses of funds include activities related to arson prevention, fire investigation, training and education programs, and pre-fire planning.<\/li>
  6. Additionally, there are grants available to Colorado EMS providers<\/a> for education and training activities that enhance emergency services. <\/li>
  7. Awards to a U.S. active police officer<\/a> to honor efforts on behalf of the safety and welfare of police canines in local communities. This program recognizes the efforts of police officers and police dispatchers in advocating for a better quality of life. This award highlights higher standards of safety for police canines reuniting lost dogs, and promoting nonviolent resolutions to animal complaints.<\/li>
  8. Funding available to North Carolina CBO’s, tribes and agencies<\/a> to meet the needs of female victims. <\/li>
  9. There are also grants available to Washington nonprofit emergency medical service providers<\/a> to purchase emergency care equipment. Funding of up to $5,000 to purchase emergency care equipment.<\/li>
  10. Finally, there are grants available to Illinois law enforcement agencies<\/a> to purchase and train working police dogs. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
