The amount of resources available in the form of grants for various types of organizations, from non-profits to regular businesses<\/a><\/font><\/u> and even individuals is incredible. Funding organizations put together plans to help people whether they are in peril or they need some assistance reaching a certain goal. Unless you investigated it further you probably would never know about the vast number of grants available out there. The grant industry has a very clear response to that, \u201cWe\u2019ve got a grant for that!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These grants range from funding for little league teams, all\nthe way to research funding for worldwide issues such as terminal disease. While\nperusing through the variety of grants out there, I came upon one that caught\nmy eye, in reference to IBD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Inflammatory\nbowel disease (IBD)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inflammatory bowel disease or IBD is the term used to describe a disorder that involves chronic inflammation of your digestive tract and includes several different symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Types of IBD include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ulcerative colitis-<\/strong>\nThis is a condition that will usually cause long-lasting inflammation and sores\nalso known as ulcers, in the inner lining of the large intestine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crohn’s disease-<\/strong> This condition is a different type of IBD and is usually characterized by inflammation of the lining of your digestive tract. It is often known to spread deep into affected tissues as a result of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the National Center for Chronic Disease\nPrevention and Health Promotion, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there\nis an estimated 3 million US adult diagnosed with IBD (either Crohn\u2019s disease\nor ulcerative colitis). Compared with adults without IBD, those with IBD are\nmore likely to have certain chronic health conditions that include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
