According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alz.org\/alzheimers-dementia\/facts-figures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alzheimer&#8217;s Association<\/a>, an estimated 6.5 million Americans aged 65 and older are living with Alzheimer&#8217;s in 2022. However, the organization predicts that the number will rise to nearly 13 million by 2050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What Is Alzheimer&#8217;s Disease?<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Alzheimer\u2019s Disease is a progressive type of dementia that is caused by damage to neurons. The disease affects one&#8217;s memory and worsens over time. As of now, there is no cure. In the early stages of Alzheimer&#8217;s, memory loss may be less severe; but by the late stages, individuals are unable to have a conversation, recognize their loved ones, or even react to their environment.<meta charset=\"utf-8\"\/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Statistics about the Disease<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The disease makes up 60-80 percent of dementia cases. <\/li><li>More than\u00a011 million\u00a0Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer&#8217;s or other dementias.<\/li><li>Approximately 1 out of 9 seniors are currently in some stage of Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/li><li>Almost two-thirds of Americans with Alzheimer&#8217;s are women.<\/li><li>1 in 3 seniors die of Alzheimer&#8217;s or another form of dementia. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Five Grants to Support Alzheimers<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Grants are available to clinicians and researchers for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/187795\/grants-to-usa-canada-and-international-researchers-and-clinicians-for-research-related-to-developing-drug-therapies-for-alzheimer-s.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alzheimer&#8217;s drug research<\/a>.<\/li><li>USA institutions and organizations can apply for grants to provide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/197573\/grants-to-usa-institutions-and-organizations-to-advance-patient-and-caregiver-education.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">educational activities<\/a> to patients and caregivers impacted by Alzheimer&#8217;s disease. <\/li><li>Grants and fellowships are offered to researchers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/175069\/grants-and-fellowships-to-usa-canada-and-international-researchers-for-alzheimer-s-disease-research-projects.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">for projects <\/a>that increase the understanding of Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.\u00a0<\/li><li>Additionally, grants and in-kind support are available to scholars and clinicians<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/193665\/grants-and-in-kind-support-to-usa-canada-and-international-clinicians-and-researchers-for-dementia-related-studies.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> for research <\/a>related to cognitive disease<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/193665\/grants-and-in-kind-support-to-usa-canada-and-international-clinicians-and-researchers-for-dementia-related-studies.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">.<\/a>\u00a0<\/li><li>Finally, grants are available to researchers, health professionals, and scientists for projects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/186209\/grants-to-usa-canada-and-international-researchers-health-professionals-and-scientists-for-research-on-alzheimer-s-disease.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">investigating the cause <\/a>of Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>In recognition of World Alzheimer&#8217;s Day, we hope organizations can secure funding opportunities in hopes of creating change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>GrantNews Notes<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking for similar grants?
