In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), physical activity may be the most important aspect of maintaining good overall health as you age. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the benefits of physical activity include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Improved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/physicalactivity\/basics\/pa-health\/index.htm#brain-health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cognitive function<\/a>.<\/li><li>Improved overall bone density. <\/li><li>Weight management.<\/li><li>Reducing the risk of disease (specifically lowering your risk for type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome and heart disease) <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With the increasing obesity rate in the United States, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/health-news\/why-childhood-obesity-rates-are-rising-and-what-we-can-do#:~:text=In%20the%20United%20States%2C%20childhood,factors%20contributing%20to%20the%20epidemic.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">especially for children<\/a>, there&#8217;s a need for more programming to combat this.
