But many of these species are unfortunately threatened with extinction. Take, for example, the American Bison. These majestic creatures were once on the brink of death. However, thanks to conservation efforts, their population has rebounded to over 500,000. Can you imagine a world without the iconic bison roaming our plains and grasslands? It&#8217;s a scary thought, but this is the likely reality we may have to face unless we do more to protect them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it&#8217;s not just about individual species &#8211; it&#8217;s about whole ecosystems and habitats. The Amazon Rainforest, for example, is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. It is home to over 40,000 plant species, 3,000 fish species and over 1,300 bird species. The abundance of life and diversity in the Amazon Rainforest is mind-boggling. However, serious threats to that ecosystem today require that we must do everything possible to protect it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Some Conservation and Wildlife Facts You Need to Know&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There are many endangered species today. But thanks to conservation efforts, many can be brought from the brink of extinction. A great example is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.com\/animals\/mammals\/facts\/american-bison\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Bison<\/a>. Though once endangered, their population has now rebounded to over 500,000.<\/li><li>The need to protect ecosystems and habitats like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/place\/Amazon-Rainforest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amazon Rainforest<\/a>, one of the most biodiverse regions in the world.<\/li><li>Conservation grants provide needed funding for research, monitoring and implementation of conservation programs.<\/li><li>Conservation grants help to fund education and awareness campaigns to promote environmental sustainability.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fisheries.noaa.gov\/species\/humpback-whale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Humpback whales,<\/a> whose population nearly became extinct in the early 20th century, have today increased to over 80,000 thanks to conservation efforts.<\/li><li>The annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.org\/en-us\/get-involved\/how-to-help\/animals-we-protect\/monarch-butterfly\/?gclid=CjwKCAjw__ihBhADEiwAXEazJhsh4LrPOLcTjn0i8RncUHbIzVeBGCp3wRCxDfDVP77i5WUXxIqawRoCk7IQAvD_BwE&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">monarch butterfly<\/a> migration is one of the most extraordinary events in the natural world and is one which we must protect.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.noaa.gov\/education\/resource-collections\/marine-life\/coral-reef-ecosystems#:~:text=Coral%20reefs%20are%20some%20of,and%20even%20small%2C%20solitary%20organisms.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Coral reefs<\/a> are often referred to as  the &#8220;rainforests of the sea&#8221; because of their incredible biodiversity. Today, they are under serious threat due to factors like climate change and pollution.<\/li><li>After decades of conservation efforts to rebuild their natural habitats, the population of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldwildlife.org\/species\/giant-panda\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Giant Pandas<\/a> in 2016 were &#8216;upgraded&#8217; from &#8216;endangered&#8217; to &#8216;vulnerable.&#8217; They now have increased in number to over 1,800.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To do our part, below is a list of some great grants to help with conservation efforts.
